weird weekend...

I had a weird weekend.  The first weird thing I did was go out with my husband alone!!  We went to a book signing and a wedding. There is nothing like a wedding to make you appreciate your significant other! (love you, babe)
...by the way, everyone should buy this book-Waking Up is Hard To Do by Neil Sedaka and illustrated by our friend Daniel Miyares.

Then I took a cheese making class with my mom!  It was delightful.  (Pics below)
Finally, the last weird event of the weekend was a trip to the ER for my husband!!  He is OK, it is an allergic reaction to something.  He has been itchy for a couple of months, and then his hands, feet, and lips started tingling.  So, I called ask-a-nurse and they said to have him seen within the hour!! AHHH.  Then the urgent care place sent him to the ER.  It was kinda crazy, but at least we don't have to worry about what to do with all that extra money! Whew.

happy birthday, GRANDMA!!

I also want to give a shout out to my Grandma on her birthday!!  Happy Birthday!

wedding!

Joan and Anthony are a great couple!  The way the look at each other is so adoring and beautiful.  I shot their wedding last weekend, and it was so fun to think in frames again!!  Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day!
You all have to remember that I am out of practice...

my sweet preschooler!

so, we have had a rough start to school.  I have a child who, like his mom, loves people and has a hard time being tame around them. (especially the ones he really likes)  Everyday his sweet teacher told me that he really tried, but was unsuccessful at keeping his hands to himself or listening.  TODAY HE DID IT!! Every day one kid gets the blue ribbon sticker, and today my boy got it!!  It warms my heart to know that he is learning and growing.  Good job my angel boy!

He also got a basketball key chain as a prize!

brilliant artwork....but

this is great art!!
Too bad it is on the wall!!

bye bye my babies.

Rascal and Norman have been part of our family for 8 1/2 years.  They have moved 4 times with us, helped us remodel a house, experienced us bringing 2 babies home, and countless other everyday events.  Now they are experiencing a barn with hay and horses!  We had to let them go live somewhere else.  They were ruining our house and I had to be a grown up about it.  I couldn't have asked for a better situation.  I miss them like crazy, but I know I did the right thing.  It seems like a huge life change that I should blog about.  :)

trip

Paul and I went on a trip to Michigan to see a stadium that he did the structural work on!  (It was a special stadium dedication game.) Just us...no kids.  It was great to spend time with the love of my life!  He did a great job on the stadium, too.  Here are some pictures.

garden goods

I really like to garden!  It is so great to see the fruit of my labor...flower, veggies, and foliage.  Here are some pics from my yard.

cukes!!

LEMON!! (hopefully it will turn yellow before someone plucks it...PAUL)
I don't think I have enough toys...hmmm
I got new curtains!  I just like these...it has nothing to do with my labor fruit!

homemade sanitizing wipes!

I made sanitizing wipes.  Those wipes have been a staple in my car and purse since I got back from Europe with a nasty cold.  (I still get nasty colds, so I don't know why I use them.  Peace of mind, I guess-or I am a germaphobe) It occurred to me that the chemicals in the wipes might not be the best thing for my kids, so I looked into making them.  first! Mix equal parts rubbing alcohol and baby lotion ( i used about 1/2 cup) in a airtight container.
Shake your container until mixture is mixed.  Cut a roll of paper towels in half (I read that Bounty is the way to go)

Then place half of the paper towel roll in the solution.  Let it soak until it is all wet (could take a while).
Remove the cardboard center and pull the wipes out from the center!  You did it.
